Snowboarding

Snowboarding first became popular in 1970’s and 1980’s in America, by a father trying to invent a new type of ‘sled” for his child.

When skiing first started the skiers did not accept this newly develop ‘culture’, snowboarding, on their slope.

As newly designed and styled board came out and more companies started creating snowboards.

Snowboarding has become a competitive extreme sport, very popular all over the world.

There are 3 styles on snowboarding Free ride, Freestyle, and free carve.

Freeride is the most popular; it just means you ride down any terrain available. Freestyle involves the boarder using manmade objects such as rails.

Free carve is pretty much like skiing which involves a race and slalom. There are also many types of snowboarding competitions: there is the slope style, the big air, half-pipe, boarder cross, the rail jam, racing, and others.
